About Us
Welcome to the Museum of Dogs - we’re thrilled that you have chosen to spend some time with us.We started this museum in July of 2024 for a simple reason: to honour dogs. The Museum of Dogs celebrates the myriad ways in which dogs impact our lives. Our dogs are often the only consistent thing in a very unstable world. We currently feature six exhibitions: the history of dogs in South Africa, the influence of dogs in culture, personal stories on how dogs have influenced people, a photography exhibition by Emma O'Brien, a ceramic exhibition by Tania Babb, and short films from around the world. The Museum of Dogs is not a super serious place. Many of the objects on display can be interacted with, as long as you don’t remove them! And feel free to laugh or cry out loud. The gift shop features locally produced dog-related products and artworks. We look forward to seeing you when you visit.
